How to take your Bach® Flower Remedy

Bach® Flower remedies may be taken in many ways. it is very easy to do and doesn't take long to get the hang of.

How to take a Remedy?

Directly by mouth: 4 drops on the tongue or in the mouth.  Be careful not to contaminate the pipette (dropper) by direct contact.  Wash in HOT water if this happens.

In your drink: Place 4 drops in a small glass or your drink bottle and sip. A cup of tea, whilst not ideal, can still be used although fresh, clear water is always the best.

Externally: Four drops may be applied externally to a patient's skin.  A child in the middle of 'an episode' is the ideal candidate for a skin application as most parents know the chances of getting anything in the mouth are low!  For animals, placed on the hands and 'patted' and 'loved' in around the head is great.

How Much should I take?

Personalised Remedies should be taken four times per day unless directed otherwise on the bottle. Four drops is all you need and spreading the doses as evenly as possible is ideal.  You will need at least two doses per day to feel any significant effect from a personalised remedy in the long term.
 

For Animals

Ingested:  Your animal will receive a Bach® , Bush or North American (FES) Flower remedy much the same way you will, except instead of trying to get the remedy into an animal's mouth, you can squirt four or five drops into your palm and let the animal lick it off (washing your hand afterwards of course). 

By Drink:  Squirt four drops into the animals clean water supply so that they may dose themselves through the day. For large animals 10 drops to a small bucket every time the water is made fresh. Excellent for Fear Formula, Barking Formula etc., this method allows consistent doses throughout the day without the need for your direct attention.

Externally:  In a fresh glass (small) place some pure water (not with bubbles or tap water) and add 4 drops of your pets remedy to the glass, then you can use this glass to dose your animal  from throughout the day.

To dose from this glass stir with a clean utensil in a circular motion one way and then the other just to wake the remedy and then pour a small amount into your hand and either get the animal to drink from your hand or you can also rub in a soothing motion into the animals ears, on the fur, the remedy is taken in via the skin just as well as by mouth. (Do Not place drops in animals ears ever)

Or Place four drops on your palm and wipe over the animals face just like any normal pat.  A tummy rub can also be effective.

For Cats The way I would introduce your lovely cat to the remedy is to put a few(2 to 4) drops in his warm milk if you give him milk as a treat, this is by far the easiest way to get a cat to drink it. I would say that the very best way would be in the water (2 to 4) drops, I would start with 2 and see how your cat goes.

You can also put it on the pulse points of your cat too, like behind the ears, if you have a spare bottle (keep the bottle you have just ordered for future use) then just place 4 drops in the bottle with pure water and this will still be totally effective but will dilute the brand preservative that some animals don't like. This is how I use the remedies with my dogs and they drink it straight from my hand every morning before I leave for work, a little trickier for a cat though, I would be doing the milk/food and water instead.

For Plants

In a clean watering can, spray bottle or even a glass, depending on the size of the job at hand, add four to ten drops of the remedy and water over the leaves, trunk and soil just as you would for the plant normally.  A spray bottle is also excellent for this purpose.  Especially useful for transplanting shock, Rescue® Remedy can help save many plants that do not deal with re-potting and transplanting very well.  Excellent also for grafting.
